Stat 2000 Distance: Assignment 2 Tips (Distance/Online Sections)

Published: Sat, 01/19/13

My tips for Assignment 1 are coming below, but first a couple of announcements.

Please note that my first review seminar for Stat 2000 will be on Feb. 24 (one week before the midterm exam).  Unfortunately, that means the seminar is the weekend at the end of the week-long Midterm Break, but it is out of my hands.  This seminar will cover the lessons in Volume 1 of my book.  More info will be sent later about this seminar when everything is finalized.  I am not taking registrations for the seminar as of yet.

If you are taking the course by Classroom Lecture (Sections A01, A02, etc.), I will send tips for Assignment 2 once it is posted.

Tips for Assignment 2 (Distance/Online Sections D01, D02, D03, etc.)

Study Lesson 3 in my study book (if you have it) to learn the concepts involved in Assignment 2.

Don't have my book?  You can download a free sample containing Lesson 3 at my website here:
Grant's Tutoring Study Guides (Including Free Samples)

Make sure you have read your course info to help answer questions 1 and 2.

Questions 3 to 6 should go quite smoothly for a person who has studied Lesson 3 in my book.  Make sure you follow instructions and round off to the correct number of decimal places for each part.

To be able to understand questions 7 and 8, you will need to read my "Errors in Hypothesis Testing Revisited" section in Lesson 6 of my study book (this is only in the last three editions of my book: yellow, white or blue covers).  You may also need to skim through some of the earlier questions in Lesson 6 to get a grasp of how to compute Discrete Probabilities and Binomial Probabilities.  I think mastery of these topics is not important at this time, you will get an opportunity to learn this lesson more thoroughly later on in this course.
