Your opinion is needed: Tentative dates for Midterm Exam Seminar Preps
Published: Wed, 09/19/12
I intend to finalize my midterm exam prep seminar dates by the end of this week, but I thought I would give you all some input.
First, I would love your opinion:
Keeping in mind that my seminars are generally 9:00 am to 9:00 pm (with lunch and supper breaks), would you prefer that a seminar generally be on a Saturday or a Sunday? Some pros and cons:
Saturdays can be days when you have to write an exam, go to work, want to party, etc. But, at least you have Sunday to recover/review after the seminar.
Sundays can be days you have family/religious pursuits, plus you have school the next day. But, at least you had Saturday to rest up/relax before the seminar.
I would sincerely appreciate your opinion. Just a quick email or text saying the day you prefer in principle: Saturday, Sunday, Either.
Here are the dates I am considering:
First Stat 1000 seminar will be Saturday, Oct. 6 (I could be convinced to switch to Sunday Oct. 7 if there is considerable interest in doing that, let me know either way please and soon).
Math 1300 midterm seminar will be Sunday, Oct. 14 (I am unlikely to change that to Saturday, Oct. 13 since there is a Stat 1000 exam that day.)
Math 1500/1520 midterm seminar will be Saturday, Oct. 20 (I could be convinced to switch to Sunday Oct. 21 but the midterm exam for Math 1500 is on the 24th so that is cutting it close.)
Stat 2000 midterm seminar will be Sunday, Oct. 21 (I could be convinced to switch to Saturday Oct. 20, but I am leaning towards doing the calculus seminar on the Saturday.)
I am not ready to take registrations yet since dates are not finalized. Please give me your input. I am anxious to hear your opinion.
