Those of you who have my Intro Calculus book may want to review Lesson 8 (Derivatives of Logs and Exponentials) to help you with question 1 in the distance assignment.  Especially questions 1, parts (n), (o) and (p) and question 2 in my Lecture Problems where I teach how to do Logarithmic Differentiation.

 

You should also take a look at Lesson 11, question 10 in my Intro Calculus book to learn the derivative application of the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.  This is also taught in my Calculus 2 book, Lesson 2, question 2, starting on page 38.
