Midterm Seminar for Stat 1000 on Nov. 6.

Published: Fri, 10/22/10

Hi ,

I just wanted to let you know that I plan to hold the seminar prep for the second midterm exam in Stat 1000 on Saturday, Nov. 6.  I am not ready to take registrations yet.  I will send an e-mail next week to let you know when I am ready.

I would like your input.

If you attended the first seminar on Oct. 9, you will know I went grossly over the alotted time.  I apologize for that.  Instead of running from 9 to 5, it instead went from 9 to 9.

The material on the second midterm exam will be more challenging.  I would prefer to take the time to teach this material thoroughly.  Consequently, I would like to have this seminar go from 9 to 9 as well.  There will be a 1-hour lunch break at about 12 noon, and a 1-hour supper break at about 5:30 pm.  I will also give shorter 5 - 10 minute breaks at appropriate times in the seminar.

What is your opinion on this plan?

Would you prefer a shorter seminar (and obviously less thorough) running from 9 to 5?

Please take the time to send me your opinion, as I value it highly.  I would like to know by no later than Wednesday, Oct. 27 as I need to formally schedule the seminar and start taking registrations.

Thank-you
