Parking and Transit info for Calculus and Stats 1 seminars at UW this weekend

Published: Fri, 10/21/16

Please note that I have moved the exam prep seminars for both Calculus on Oct. 22 and Basic Stats 1 on Oct. 23 to the University of Winnipeg due to the Heritage Classic at Investors Group Field pretty much making the UM campus a no-go area for the entire weekend. Please pass this message on to anyone you think may be affected, and do be sure to register for the seminar if you have not already done so, so that I have your contact info if any other updates need to be sent.

The seminars will be in Room 3C01, 3rd floor, Centennial Hall on the University of Winnipeg campus.  Centennial Hall is between Spence Street and Balmoral Street, just north of Portage Avenue (as is all of the UW campus basically).

Click here for a map of the parking in the area. The drop-off route it shows would also work for those of you getting dropped off to attend the seminar at Centennial Hall.
  • The seminars are from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.  I intend to be there to open the door to the room by 8:40 am.
  • The cost is $40, cash or cheque payable to Grant's Tutoring. You pay at the door.
  • There is a cafeteria on the ground floor of Centennial Hall which will be open on the weekend for any meals or snacks (the lunch break is at about 1:00 for about 40 minutes). Of course, there are other fast food places in the area.
  • The Axworthy Health and Recplex has a parkade that is $4 per day to park at on the weekend. The parkade entrance is off of Young Street (a one way street), and Centennial Hall is on Spence Street across from the Axworthy Recplex building.
  • UW is very accessible by bus. Those of you near or on the UM campus might note that the 160 bus runs from UM to UW  and back, and drops you off right at the Centennial Hall building.
Sorry for the inconvenience in changing the seminar from the UM campus to the UW campus, but it truly was something outside of my control.
